Join this special joint event of the Columbia River Eating Disorder Network and IAEDP Willamette Valley chapter as we host an amazing evening with Karla McLaren M.Ed.
Recent neurological research challenges the view that emotions are obstructions and, instead, finds that emotions (including so-called "negative" ones) are central to basic cognition, self-awareness, meaning-making, decision-making, behavior, thought, and action. In this workshop, McLaren presents emotions as aspects of genius, each one arising for specific and vital reasons, and each one carrying messages crucial to well-being. Most importantly, she explores the nourishing genius of deep emotions – such as panic, shame, anxiety, rage, and depression – and helps people apply this genius to self-awareness, healing, and reintegration.
